FUNDS DESPERATELY NEEDED for Food & Bills to ensure the welfare of our dogs
Running our centre comes at a extremely high cost, just keeping us running without even covering vets bills comes in at around 10k PER MONTH!!! That’s just to keep the basic bills paid. A roof over the animals heads and hot water, electric and food.
We want our dogs to be warm, we want them to have heating in their kennels ... and unfortunately we are drowning in bills.
Myself and a small team of regular volunteers work every single day, all day, morning right through to night. We don’t get a break. We live hand to mouth, basic as it can come. The animals eat before us, they come before us in every way and that’s how we want it to be, but we also can’t deal with the stress of having no money, its taking its toll on us all. We’re only human.
Our animals here NEED your help, without your help and us taking them in, the majority would 100% be dead..we have extreme biters, dogs that wouldn’t cope a day out there in the normal world. Dogs we have dedicated our lives too, we can’t let them down, we won’t. Times are hard we know that, we don’t want you to suffer by helping our animals but we have to beg..the begging bowl is out fully!!
This is NOT for us, this is for the dogs!! They are the priority but it is up to us to keep them safe. If that means us begging for money then so be it.
We do not have a team of paid staff, we are all volunteers, some like myself are here 24hrs a day, others help when they can. the paid member of staff we have is our kennel manager!
I don’t know how we will survive this winter without any finical backing and that is the heartbreaking truth.
We’ve set up this fundraiser which we’re desperately hoping will have a positive impact on the current situation we are in 💔.
We have spent the last 3 years searching for a quality food to feed all the dogs in our care, that will eradicate the majority of food based issues with German Shepherds in turn cutting down costly vet bills for stomach based issues, skin, coat and joint issues. and trying to balance the cost of said food financially.
Over the years we have tried several brands, some work for some dogs and not others meaning we had been unable to keep to one food. This year we were lucky enough to try YORA which is an insect protein based food...
The results have been amazing, we have managed to transition pretty much 99% of our dogs onto YORA with no issues whatsoever, We have found it has impacted our dogs in ways other foods could not achieve on the same number of dogs, it has reduced the number of vet visits we need for upset stomachs and other routine ailments, thus helping reduce our veterinary visits.
As a Specialist German Shepherd Rescue Charity with 50+ dogs in our care at any one time, with daily requests to help more and more dogs we know 100% on how unsettled the breed can be depending on their diet so getting food right for each and every dog we care for is a particularly hard task as each dog differs and is as individual as they come.
Also as a rescue charity, we are always looking for ways to reduce our carbon footprint and one of the easiest ways for us to do that is by the food we feed. This is another key reason why we looked into Yora which is ethical, sustainable and the most innovative pet food on the market, providing a natural, balanced and delicious food for dogs of all sizes and ages.
Insect protein is hypoallergenic and great for pets with meat-related food allergies or intolerances. Yora also reduces a dog’s carbon pawprint, as it is better for the environment compared to traditional meat-based pet foods as their grubs use a lot less water, land and CO2.
As you can see the switch to YORA helps the dogs in our care like no other food we have ever tried! unfortunately there is a price to pay for this super food...
Even though the lovely people at YORA are happy to donate short dated stock to us for the dogs, whenever there is some available we still need to purchase for the majority of the year, we are now one of their ethical rescue partners and this means we can purchase at a discounted rate, but this discounted rate is still £3,500 per pallet. A pallet will last us roughly ONE MONTH with the dogs in our care.
MORE INFORMATION ON YORA CAN BE FOUND ON THEIR WEBSITE, HERE .... https://yorapets.com/uk/
I really hope you guys can help us to achieve our goal to look after the dogs in our care, £5, £10, £100 it all adds up!
Thank you
