Help keep art, music and community growing in Lawrence.

Great Plains Emerging Arts Project is a Lawrence-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit working to create more opportunities for artists, musicians, makers and community gathering across the Great Plains region.

Our work currently centers around two major efforts.

Great Plains Art, Food & Maker Festival brings together original artists and makers, regional musicians, food and thousands of hours of creative work for one day at Sesquicentennial Point Park. We are committed to building a festival that supports working creatives while remaining affordable and welcoming to the public.

The Lawrence Civic Amphitheater Project at The Point is our long-term vision for a permanent outdoor civic stage at Sesquicentennial Point Park — a place where Lawrence can gather for concerts, festivals, theater, cultural celebrations, graduations and community events overlooking Clinton Lake and the Wakarusa River Valley.

These efforts are connected. Great Plains Fest demonstrates what can happen at this remarkable public site today while we continue organizing, advocating and building support for what it could become in the future.

Our current goal is to raise $10,000 to strengthen this work.

Your contribution helps Great Plains Emerging Arts Project:

• Keep Great Plains Fest affordable and accessible
• Support artists, makers and live musicians
• Fund outreach, communications and community engagement
• Keep the Lawrence Civic Amphitheater Project active, organized and moving forward
• Build stronger year-round opportunities for art and creativity

A gift of $10, $25 or $50 matters. Monthly supporters give us something especially valuable: dependable support that allows a small nonprofit to plan ahead and keep moving.

Art is created by people. Music is created by people. Community happens when people come together.

Help us keep creating spaces where that can happen.

Thank you for believing in this work.
