Who we are:
GoingFar is a volunteer-led, mission-driven and self-funded non-profit in Ireland. To date we have directly supported over 800 migrant and refugee professionals to grow their careers, businesses and networks.
Our Mission:
To accelerate the development of diverse migrant professionals, by giving them the tools to advance their careers or set up their own business.
Why we need your help:
We want to help all migrants and refugees in Ireland who need us, but we need your help doing that.
Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine we have seen more than 15,000 Ukrainian refugees arrive in Ireland, with the Irish government estimating we could see upwards of 100,000 people coming from Ukraine into Ireland over the next few months. In the last few weeks we have already seen a huge increase in the demand for our services, and this is continuing to increase every day. We have heard from many people struggling, without a community or network to lean on, to establish themselves and start to build a life in Ireland.
This is where we come in. We have the experience, the experts and the tools to help but at the moment we lack the financial resources to meet this extra demand, on top of the other communities we work with. We do not receive Government funding, and so are reliant on individuals like yourselves, and our Corporate Partners to help us rise to this challenge.
How we will use your donations:
Immediately: The first €5,000
People are actively looking for jobs and there are so many companies looking for this talent, but there are specific barriers they face around language, cultural differences, and simply understanding the recruitment process in Ireland. We want to bridge that gap in three ways.
1. Hosting more Skill Building Workshops.
Our workshops and round-tables are run by a team of cross-industry experts, from career coaches and recruitment specialists, to people who have used our services in the past and have first-hand experience of navigating the Irish jobs market as a migrant professional. These workshops provide important, practical and relevant in-person/virtual experiences in a variety of areas including Interview Preparations, Networking Tips & CV Building. We will use your donations to scale-up the number of workshops we run so that we can help even more people.
2. Increasing and improving the content we provide.
We work with professionals across a variety of areas to provide practical content to ensure those who are unable to attend our workshops or roundtables still have access to the tools they need. This is an area in particular we're seeing huge demand for, both in terms of the languages content is required in, as well as the areas covered in our content. We have sourced a number of people who have the skillsets we need, but we need your help to fund this work.
3. Mentorship
We are running a simplified version of our mentoring programme specifically to support Ukrainian refugees in finding employment quickly. Our mentors are established professionals who will help with optimising CV/LinkedIn profile, practicing for interviews and finding the right job opportunities. We want to put your donations to use for social media advertising to help widen the reach of our mentorship programme.

Migrant Portal:
We we want to provide a safe, accessible space for people from all backgrounds to give them an opportunity to start GoingFar. To do this, we want to provide a portal that will further foster a sense of community, provide those essential tools and resources and allow us to reach even more people.
