Go Girl is a not-for-profit organization based in the northeast of Brazil. Our mission is to empower young women through education; breaking cycles of premature pregnancy, illiteracy, and poverty, one girl at a time!
Established in 2019 by Ani Klaus De Moraes, an American with a Brazilian dad, Go Girl grew out of Ani’s concern for a very smart and curious little girl she’d met who at the age of 9 could not read. Through no fault of her own, she had simply fallen through the cracks of the large and often inadequate public educational system.
Feeling compelled to do something, Ani decided to raise the money needed to send this little girl to private school. Once accomplished, this 9-year-old, after only a few months in school, was not only reading but had also acquired a new and wider view of the world.
And so, Go Girl was born to provide the opportunities that come from a good education.
In 2019, Go Girl opened its first location which, due to Covid, was forced to close its doors a few months later. In August of 2021, however, we opened at a bigger and better location.
Currently, Go Girl gives classes to 30 girls aged five to fifteen. Classes include English, Personal Finance, History, Portuguese, Emotional Intelligence, Robotics, and Dance… with more on the way.
And that’s not all. Future plans are in the works for Go Girl to work with women, offering career building courses and classes in entrepreneurship.
We at Go Girl are impatient. We’re all about “full steam ahead,” wanting to expand our reach to the many incredible young girls in need of a quality education, then on to their mothers.
Will you help us change the trajectory of their lives? Will you help us help them to change the world?
Go Girl is a registered Brazilian nonprofit, 100% volunteer based.
All donations above $50 USD will receive an awesome GO GIRL tee shirt. Shipping included : )
