My name is Pops Grady, a proud Scotsman, 63 years of age and currently volunteering in Ukraine since March 2022. When Russia invaded our European brother Ukraine in February 2022, a free democratic country simply trying to forge its own direction and be free of the oppresive Russian regime, I decided I could not sit by and watch. I moved to Ukraine with what I could carry and have been there ever since, volunteering in various roles and drawing on my own skills acquired during my time in the military.
I have been active as a volunteer soldier, trainer, medical evacuation driver and general humanitarian volunteer, assisting with civilian aid and logistics. It is my goal to continue to stay in Ukraine until we see it free of the Russian aggressors and with Ukrainian flags again flying over all territories in Ukraine. My heart also says I may stay beyond that period to help Ukraine rebuild, as I have become attached emotionally to a beautiful country and great people.
In order to conduct my mission to help Ukraine I need your support through way of a donation. I am grateful for all help, as your help to me allows me to continue aiding Ukraine. I am self-funded while in Ukraine and after 2 years I am in a position where I now need your assistance to continue.
Please consider providing a donation, as its ultimately a donation which benefits Ukraine. You can provide a one off donation or become a regular monthly donor. Those who donate over $100 will get a personal video thank you from me and the legendary Ukrainian warriors I work alongside. The donations will be used by me to continue providing room, board and food for myself and other volunteers who continually transit through Ukraine and need a place to stay for a period. Any donations will also be used to purchase mission critical personal equipment, boots, helmet, gloves, warm and wet weather clothing and ballistic protection. Donations will also be used for vehicle maintenance and repairs for my own vehicle, as the Ukrainian terrain is unforgiving on vehicles and repairs are a constant fact of life here.
Ideally once we help Ukraine to victory, I wish to stay in Ukraine for the long term and any money I can put aside from donations will go toward finding a small cheap village house which I can call home.
I thank you and please continue supporting me and supporting Ukraine.
Slava Ukraini!
