New City Arts envisions the Charlottesville area as a place where a thriving group of local artists unsettles and transforms our community to work toward a more just, beautiful future.
At New City Arts every year, we bring together 100 artists and 5,000 community members to spark connection, inquiry, and social transformation through a portfolio of 10 programs, including a robust exhibition program at New City's Welcome Gallery.
For #GivingTuesday, we hope to raise $15,000 to support these opportunities for artists like our downtown gallery, research residency, artist fellowship, and more. Everyone who gives can opt into the chance to win a set of small works by 10 local artists who participated in our Artist Exchange program.
$15,000 of gifts made between now and December 3 will be generously matched by a community pool of anonymous donors and The Hubbell Family, BRW Architects, Derrick and Sarah Waller, Betty and Joshua Li-Simpson, Brittany Fan, Brooks and Chad Wellmon, Lily West, Eleis and Jonas Te Paske, Donna and Richard Tadler, and Ann Horner. Together, this support brings our #GivingTuesday goal to $30,000!
