In 2026, our goal is to build a community of advocates for immigrant families and children. We each have roles to play in a community and at Aldea we know our role is to defend the brave.
For over ten years, Aldea has stood alongside immigrants facing detention and deportation, using the law to protect their rights and hold the government accountable. What began as a response to a crisis has become a sustained commitment: to show up for every last person wrongfully detained, and to insist that dignity and fairness are not optional.
We all have seen the violence and protests in response across the country. We all have heard accounts of the conditions that await those who get detained. This moment forces us to ask: what are we going to do now? Meeting this moment means responding to each other with compassion and with clarity and courage to those who work to abandon our legal commitments to immigrants and to deliberately dismantle due process for all of us. We meet this moment by refusing to look away when justice is at stake.
We are meeting this moment with resolve and creativity, using every tool in our legal toolbox to defend asylum, protect vulnerable populations, and ensure that due process does not slip away before our eyes. Our work provides immediate, life-changing support to people seeking safety — ensuring they are met not with indifference or judgment, but with advocacy, care, and a real chance to be heard.
