Dear People,
First of all, thank you so much for giving me a few minutes to take a look at my campaign which can give me months to stay in Germany where I study for my Master's degree in Life Sciences. Exactly 1 year ago, I came to this beautiful country where free and great education is provided from my home country, Turkey. I am a single child of a beloved single mom, together we worked so hard to save money for my education and dreams so here I am today, studying at the university where Wilhelm Röntgen discovered X-rays.
After my first semester, I immediately started looking for jobs to be able to afford my expenses and save money for the residence permit. Due to Covid-19, this was a really challenging task. Now with the increasing number of cases, my employers told me that they will not renew my contract and I have only 2 months left for my residence permit application. I am in my 3rd semester so I need 1 semester only to write my thesis and graduate. For the residence permit, I have to show 5.5k Euros and with all my efforts, I could save 3.5k of it in these months I was staying here within the allowed working hours according to my visa while maintaining myself and looking after my mom in Istanbul.
I have been feeling very depressed and hopeless since completing this money seemed like a mission impossible to me. Then I thought, hey, maybe I am not that alone after all, there are lots of people in this world who may want to support me, as a woman in science and a daughter who wants to pay all the sacrifices made by her mom for a bright future back. I see the success of the Turkish couple who made Pzifer-Biontech vaccines in Germany as a role model, and all the strong women like Marrie Currie, Eleanor Roosevelt, Frida Kahlo, Grace Hopper, Ella Fitzgerald and many others.
After my Master's, I want to work on Neurodegenerative Diseases like Alzheimer's and MS which impacts millions of lives around the world. Your support in my education would be also support for research in this area and hope for people dealing with these diseases. Thank you for reading this and thank you for your beautiful heart.
