Sunnyside Academy Student Scholarship

Sunnyside Academy is a special little micro-school in the heart of Forest Acres in Columbia, South Carolina. A multi-age setting that prioritizes individual growth and learning while incorporating character education and community involvement, Sunnyside takes pride in the development of well-rounded and engaged students.

At Sunnyside Academy, students enjoy delving into project-based learning, immersing themselves in novel studies, and exploring creative outlets. However, Sunnyside’s primary defining feature is our 4:1 student-teacher ratio, providing individualized multi-sensory and ability instructional support through our understanding of diverse learners and emphasis on relationship building. Our motto ‘Great Minds Don’t Think Alike’ truly encapsulates and embodies the driving force behind our school.

We believe that as a community, we all share responsibility for the well-being of all children. We know that there are many students in need of the opportunities that Sunnyside Academy offers.

In May of 2024, we established the Sunnyside Academy Student Scholarship Organization, or “SASS” for short. A 501(c)(3) organization created to help deserving students and families through tuition support, the goal of “SASS” is to raise funds to extend Sunnyside Academy’s outreach to families within our larger community. Through our 501(c)(3), all donations to “SASS” are tax deductible. 100% of funds collected will be used to offset tuition costs of interested and accepted students and families at Sunnyside Academy.
