Support our Groundworks Residency: Spring 2024 Matching Gift Campaign

This June, Adrienne Westwood and seven collaborators will be Artists-in-Residence at Groundworks in Gardner, New York where they will be working on [ ], a sonic-sensory performance and installation exploring female and femme ancestors. We're seeking your help to raise $6,000 in a matching gift campaign to support our residency.

[ ] is a boundary-breaking collaboration between choreographer-director Adrienne Westwood, composer-director Angélica Negrón and seven extraordinary performers. It will premiere in March 2025 at ODC Theater (San Francisco, CA), and will tour to Duke Arts (Durham, NC) later that year. It will premiere in NYC in the 2025-26 season.

In development since BRIClab 2021, we have been slowly but surely building this ambitious work through a series of residencies, including at Lincoln Center, SLIPPAGE Lab at Northwestern University, and the Movement Lab at Barnard College.

We are now at a pivotal moment in [ ]’s creation. Despite tremendous growing excitement surrounding the work, we still have significant unmet needs. We need your help to get us through our final phases of creation, ahead of full production in 2025.

Our June invitation to Groundworks will provide us with uninterrupted time and space to deepen our embodied exploration into the histories and stories of female and femme ancestors, and to engage deeply in a process of radical co-creation. In order to fully utilize this opportunity, we need to raise $6,000 to pay the artists for their labor and to pay childcare stipends to the three parent-artists on the team. Thankfully, a generous donor has offered to match all gifts up to $3,000, helping us raise a total of $6,000

When you give, you are supporting the ongoing, interdisciplinary creative process of a team of dedicated artists, and ultimately, the completion of this work with the goal of sharing it with national audiences.
