Sumak Kawsay Comunidad Educativa Cultural is a non-profit association founded in 2021 in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, Cusco, Perú. We are also a pre-school and primary school. We offer quality alternative education for our community and various types of activities for the social development of our inmediate surroundings, the rural community of Sillacancha.
According to Andean tradition SUMAK KAWSAY is the common good. The good of all, understood in a broad sense, including both, the social aand physical environment, both people in all their dimensions and the universe and nature in all its manifestatios.
Action plan 2025:
1. Two Classrooms: Construction of two multipurpose rooms for the school and the social project.
2. School Library: We received a truck frame as a donation and want yo renovate it house our new library. We want it to be the center for the social program of tutoring and artistic activities for children in the rural area of Sillacancha.
Target audience:
Students from the Sumak Kawsay School, preschool and primary levels, and the school community in general. The school offers a full scholarship system for the inclusion of students from the rural community of Sillacancha and its surrounding areas. Additionally, approximately 25% of students receive some type of scholarship or partial tuition reclassification. By 2025, the school will have a total of 120 students enrolled.
Boys and girls between the ages of 3 and 12 from the Sillacancha community through free after-school programs (including music, theater, academic reinforcement and psychological support) and in the same San Isidro Labrador public school, during school time, thanks to a partnership program with the school . In 2024, the program served 13 students. In 2025 we are attending more than 60 kids.
