St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, McKeesport, PA Donations

St. Stephen's is a wonderful family church in McKeesport, PA.  For 150 years, it has been a beacon of Christ's love, and the beautiful building itself is the oldest stone building in the city.  Any who have been inside the church can attest to the peace and sense of home one gets when there.  Thousands of people over the last century and a half have prayed, worshiped, served, joyously laughed, wept holy tears, and sang forth heartfelt praises, all to the greater glory of God, and for the love of his people.  The first AA group in the city still meets here, one of five addiction recovery groups who call the place home.  St. Stephen's has opened its doors to other worshiping communities who had found themselves dispossessed, allowing them to also worship in a place they can call home.  They work to bridge cultural gaps in the community and seek greater understanding of its diversity.  Their Bible Study is full of people who are candid and honest with their curiosities and struggles, not afraid to ask the hard questions about faith, and not seeking easy answers or empty platitudes. Theirs is a mature faith.

They are inclusive, not turning away anyone.  And, I have never met a more loving, dedicated, earnest group of people, wanting to live into the venerable history of their forebearers, seeking how best to love and serve the Lord, both within the walls, and without.  It is truly God's house and our home.

But, now they need your help to continue this good work.  McKeesport needs St. Stephen's to continue to be a beacon of hope and Christ's love in the community.  A place where people may come and rest, where they can find peace, and healing, and the assurance that the light is undimmed by the darkness.  Please prayerfully consider donating what you can to this wonderful and life-giving place.   A one-time donation is wonderful, but, if you are able, please consider giving a recurring, monthly amount (Donorbox does the work for you!) to ensure that this place of hope and love continues for another 150 years.
