Welcome to Gig Economy MCR's Strike Fundraising page. Thank you for stopping by .
Gig Economy MCR are a small collective organising live music events in Manchester to raise money for striking workers of Greater Manchester. We split donations across local branches of unions based on which workers are on strike closest to the dates of our events, and taking into account who we have raised for in the past. Our aim is to support as many workers as possible, with as little bias as possible. This event's proceedings will go to members of NEU, PCS and RCN.
After raising over £2000 for striking workers in our January and February events, we're back for round three, on Sunday 30th April, 7pm, at NIAMOS (Hulme), with a night of some of Manchester's finest homegrown live acts and DJs, as well as speeches and "pay as you feel" food. Besides raising money, we provide a space for workers on strike, supporters and musicians to gather together to build community and solidarity.
For further details of the event and to get a free ticket (purely for attendance tracking purposes), head on over to: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/585792399837, and please invite your friends on: https://fb.me/e/47lmv8TDR. The event is completely free for workers on strike, and we ask supporters to donate online, on the door and/or at any of our collection buckets during the event.
If you can't attend but still wish to donate, please do so - you're in exactly the right place, and we appreciate whatever you can offer!
And if you can't donate, you can still show support by sharing this page with your friends, family and on your social media.
Thank you so much for your support!
