An amazing moment has occurred…we are being asked to organize a two-day sterilization event in the nearby Guatemalan town of San Jose Chacaya!
This town is directly behind us in Tzununa, and it’s the first time we are ever being asked directly by a local municipal to host a sterilization clinic!
This is a HUGE opportunity for all of the dogs and Guatemala, and our organization to start to reach out to local governments and municipalities to help sterilization campaigns exist in all parts of Guatemala. Start with 1, let’s have some fun!
We are aiming to sterilize a total of 80 dogs in the course of 2 days, and raise $3000 USD to do it. It will cost approximately 20,000 Q for the veterinary care alone to do all of these dogs, however the municipality of San Jose Chacaya has permitted a budget of 4000 Q that they are putting up for the cost of all additional veterinary needs and public needs: food, sanitation, materials, cleanup, and staffing for the event. They are even gonna put us in a hotel overnight!
We have the amazing Dr. Isael of San Martin Clinica bringing the vet team and staffing for all medical purposes. We are helping facilitate the funding, the volunteers, and the design and organization, including promotion, of the event. And we need your help!
