Our "Gatitus-Uniendo Vidas taking action in Colombia" aims to neuter/spay and feed thousands of homeless cats in Colombia.

Animals' situation is terrible and devastating  in the coast of Colombia, South America. It is not a secret animal abuse is in every city in the world, but in the cities of Santa Marta, Barranquilla and Cartagena is a real hell for cats and dogs. There is a huge problematic since people do not neuter their pets (mostly they are used to kill mouses or rats) and when their cat has babies, they go to some specific places and leave them there to starve and die. Moreover, people hate animals and when they see some rescuers or animal activists rescuing cats and fostering them, they abandon more cats at their doors and evil neighbors poison them,

Furthermore, animal activists and shelters have tried to report to the local government the big issue with animal abuse in the city. However, they do not listen, and they do not create animal policies that ensure animal’s rights to a dignified life. In addition, the local government had promised to do neutering campaigns for street animals, but they do not comply them. Overall, there is not a strong animal law implementation to protect them from evil humans.

We are a Colombian non-profit organization who try to diminish the fatal consequences that this problem has arisen, but it is so big it has become an endless cycle (people abandoned many cats, we rescued them and give them up for adoption in other cities of Colombia such as Bogota and Medellin, but they keep throwing them like litter in those awful places).

Therefore, we reach for your support by donating a spay/neutering for only $11 USD.

There are no sufficient animal shelters and own resources to rescue and heal the thousands of cats that are left to die in those places such as “El Polideportivo de Santa Marta” (local stadium), “Parque San Miguel” (a park) and other similar places where there are lots of infections and bacteria that baby or adult cats are not strong to survive. This situation also happens in Cartagena in (Napoleon bridge) and Barranquilla. We are devastated with this situation, every single minute there is Facebook post of abandoned cats in terrible health conditions, please help us, you are our only hope to the ones the do no have a voice of their own.

This video shows the sad situation and was published by local TV News: https://youtu.be/X5KLHc2y2zs
