In a world heavy with fear and exhaustion, Soul Reparations offers sacred space for rest, repair, and renewal.
Being an immigrant or person of color in these times is to live with a deep, embodied awareness of danger – to feel unsafe, unwelcome, and targeted in what should be called home. From ICE raids to ongoing genocide and racialized violence, the trauma reverberates through our bodies and spirits.
Japanese American activists and allies remind us through the cry “Never again is now” that history is repeating itself. What we said would never happen again – the caging of children, the silencing of dissent, the dehumanization of communities of color – is happening.
In these times, many are asking:
How are we to live? How are we to love? How are we to keep faith when the world keeps breaking our hearts?
Why It Matters Now
Every week, our directors sit with Women of Color who are carrying the weight of injustice in their bodies.
- A Mexican woman crossing the border who trembles with ancestral fear.
- A Filipino American activist whose nervous system is on constant alert while she watches the news.
- A leader of color in a predominantly white church, grieving and rebuilding her faith.
Together, we hold their stories in love and honesty – so healing can make way for courage, and courage can make way for hope.
Amid grief and injustice, we are tending the soul of the world.
Each session is a small act of resistance against despair, and a reminder that rest and repair are not luxuries – they are the groundwork of liberation.
