If you are unable to attend the Songs of Resilience premiere (tickets available here), we hope you will consider making a donation to help us reach our fundraising goal. All donations are fully tax-deductible and will go to organizations providing critical assistance to our immigrant neighbors

Your support will help demonstrate the viability of this model of artist-led fundraising and activism. Artists have long taken on the task of speaking truth to power, and we hope this fundraising concert will stand as a model for future collaborations at the intersection of classical music and activism.

FIRST FRIENDS OF NEW JERSEY & NEW YORK

First Friends of New Jersey & New York upholds the inherent dignity and humanity of immigrants impacted by the immigration enforcement system. Since 1997, they have worked to reduce the isolation and hardship of detention by connecting people with trained volunteers and providing practical support, including visitation, pen-pal correspondence, commissary and phone funding, immigration bond support, post-release transportation, accompaniment, hotline referrals, and emergency assistance for individuals and families in crisis. Their work helps detained and recently released immigrants stay connected to loved ones, meet urgent basic needs, gain freedom when possible, and rebuild their lives in community. Rooted in direct service and informed by the experiences of the people they support, First Friends also participates in public education and advocacy to reduce detention, protect immigrant communities, and advance dignity, safety, and justice for all. COSECHA

Movimiento Cosecha is a movement made of, and led by, immigrant workers and families fighting for permanent protection, dignity, and respect for all immigrants regardless of immigration status.

What they do:

Rapid Response to ICE: provide trainings on what to do if ICE comes to our communities, sharing the statewide rapid response hotline, as well as continue to build a network of rapid response volunteers across the state.

Know your Rights: canvassing neighborhoods, talking to community members and businesses owners about their rights during ICE encounters and share the rapid response hotline.

Family Support: supporting and working with people in detention and their families. This includes:

- connecting families with legal resources

- visiting people in detention

- accompanying people to their ICE check-ins

- putting money for commissary and phone calls

- monthly healing circles and community dinners for families

- mutual aid: food, diapers, groceries, clothing, etc

- emotional support throughout the detention process
