Fundraiser 10 Mei: foto expo, talks & music
Exhibition ‘Innocence through the eyes of Hope’, Francis Brinkman.
Op zondag 10 mei bent u van harte welkom in de Keizersgrachtkerk voor een expositie en printsale voor Palestina. 100% van de opbrengst van deze fundraiser wordt verdeeld over twee zorgvuldig geselecteerde organisaties actief op de Westelijke Jordaanoever: Amos Trust en Sotna.
Amos Trust is een gevestigde internationale NGO die samenwerkt met onder andere Rode Kruis en Tent of Nations, en fondsen effectief verdeelt onder lokale initiatieven.
Sotna is een grassroots organisatie die via muzieklessen en concerten werkt aan “resistance through joy”, en daarmee direct bijdraagt aan de ontwikkeling en veerkracht van Palestijnse kinderen. Website: https://www.sotnamusic.org
Het belooft een warme en inspirerende avond te worden, met muziek, hapjes en gesprekken over het leven in Palestina en wat deze donaties kunnen betekenen. Over Francis Brinkman
‘Van oktober tot en met december 2025 was ik voor vrijwilligerswerk en mijn fotografie op de Palestijnse West Bank. Hier heb ik van dichtbij geleerd en gevoeld hoe de Palestijnen in een langzaam brandend vuur lijken te leven en hoe uitzichtloos de situatie is. Ik voerde gesprekken met mensen over de gehele West Bank, van Ramallah, tot Jenin, al Khalil en Bethlehem, en kleine dorpen en communities eromheen. Ik beloofde de verhalen te delen, omdat de Palestijnen daar zelf om vroegen en wat bleek, mensen in Nederland willen deze persoonlijke verhalen horen. Niet de krantenkoppen, niet de statistieken, maar de gezichten achter de nieuwsberichten. Ik begon de verhalen een podium te geven op het instagram-platform @rightunderyournose.palestine.
Over het evenement
Op zondag 10 mei brengen we mensen samen in de Keizersgrachtker om mensen te informeren over de actuele situatie, met Palestijnse sprekers, een arts zal vertellen over zijn tijd werkzaam in Gaza, en Francis zal over haar eigen ervaringen vertellen. We zullen niet alleen in gesprek gaan, maar ook gaan kijken naar de gezichten achter de verhalen: het fotografisch werk, dat zich gefocust heeft op de kinderen van Palestina, zal worden vertoond onder begeleiding van Palestijnse muzikanten. Bezoekers kunnen donaties kunnen doen aan de hand van print-verkoop, of steun tonen door een losse donatie te maken.’
Over Shukr Events: Shukr Events organiseert fundraising events voor o.a. Palestina in co-creatie met Palestijnse vluchtelingen. Founder Jaira Sona Chin werkt bij humanitaire organisatie Oxfam Novib en is daarnaast oprichtster van NGO The Blue House Project. De donaties van Shukr Events belanden op de stichting rekening met ANBI status van The Blue House Project en worden geheel gebruikt voor het fundraising doel van de avond.

Exhibition: “Innocence through the Eyes of Hope” by Francis Brinkman
On Sunday, May 10, you are warmly invited to the Keizersgrachtkerk for an exhibition and print sale in support of Palestine. 100% of the proceeds from this fundraiser will be distributed between two carefully selected organizations active in the West Bank: Amos Trust and Sotna.
Amos Trust is an established international NGO that collaborates with partners such as the Red Cross and Tent of Nations, and effectively channels funds to local initiatives.

About Francis Brinkman
“From October through December 2025, I was in the Palestinian West Bank for volunteer work and photography. During this time, I witnessed firsthand how Palestinians seem to live in a slow-burning reality, and how deeply uncertain and constrained daily life can be.
I spoke with people across the West Bank—from Ramallah to Jenin, Al Khalil (Hebron), Bethlehem, and surrounding villages and communities. Many asked me to share their stories. What I found is that people in the Netherlands want to hear these personal accounts—not headlines or statistics, but the human faces behind the news.
I began sharing these stories on Instagram via @rightunderyournose.palestine. Now, we are bringing people together in a physical space at the Keizersgrachtkerk. There will be Palestinian speakers discussing their personal situation, a doctor sharing his experiences working in Gaza, and I will speak about my own time there.
Alongside these conversations, we will also turn our attention to the faces behind the stories. My photographic work—focused on the children of Palestine—will be exhibited, accompanied by live music from Palestinian musicians.
Visitors will have the opportunity to contribute through the purchase of prints, or by making a donation.”
