Serenity is a gentle, lovely 12-year-old, Jersey cow. She had suffered a fractured hip in a dairy over a year ago and was not doing well in that environment. The dairy contacted us as an alternative to shipping her and wanted her to have a lifelong home in sanctuary. Since arriving, Serenity’s beautiful personality has really shown through. Her eyes are bright and she is curious about all the new friends she has met since arriving at the Little Red Barn. Like Daisy, Serenity loves to mother and nurture. She has adopted little Ellie, a small Hereford calf. Serenity licks Ellie from head to tail, making sure she is close by in the pasture. She is like the Grandma of all the residents. She is wise, intelligent and full of grace. Despite her aches and pains of her age and past, Serenity is a gentle, kind and sweet soul.
