We are facing a national crisis: 51% of business owners plan to retire within the next decade. Most will sell to private equity firms or close their doors entirely – not because they want to, but because they don’t know that selling to their employees is an option.
Worker ownership is a proven solution. Worker-owners earn 20% more, build twice the retirement savings, and lead companies that are more resilient during economic downturns. Inland Cooperative Services is stepping up to expand access to these pathways – because this is Better Work for a Better World.

At Inland Cooperative Services, we work to create family-sustaining jobs, expand access to business ownership, and grow local wealth—especially within communities that have been historically marginalized or excluded from economic opportunity. By supporting small businesses, cooperatives, and community-minded organizations, we are helping build a resilient Inland Northwest where everyone has the chance to thrive.
We strengthen the economic backbone of our region by providing professional support, training, and hands-on technical assistance to small and local businesses, cooperatives, and values-aligned organizations.
