ISSUE AT HAND
In Kerora Village, a sub-village of Rinca, there is only one Elementary School (SD).
After graduation from elementary school, children must travel a long distance to Junior High School, SMP N Rinca, located in Rinca Village.
The journey to school takes a long time and is dangerous because it passes through the habitat of the Komodo dragon. Not only that this puts children's lives in danger, but it also
creates big stress for precious wildlife populations.
SOLUTIONS
Providing SAFE transportation that can take the students to the nearest school in Rinca Village in just under 1 hour and keep them far from the threat of wild animals.
On School Boat, students can travel reliably to school daily and engage with digital edutainment installed on board. Furthermore, during the school holiday season (2 seasons: new academic year, June-July and year-end, December-January), School Boat can be used to support tourism.
Tourists will enjoy the beautiful scenery of Komodo National Park, explore Kerora Village, and play with the children. This great opportunity for tourists to engage in English or music courses and hold different workshops can give added value to the local community.
