Bringing our beloved 1930s bandstand back to life
Our beautiful bandstand in Jubilee Park, Woodhall Spa, has been a cherished community asset for nearly 90 years. Built in 1935, this charming bandstand has been central to many community celebrations, summer concerts, and special moments. But now, after years of service, our bandstand is crying out for help.
The bandstand is desperately in need of renovation. Years of weathering have taken their toll – the render is cracking, the paintwork is peeling, and the metalwork is deteriorating. We need to take action urgently to protect this much-loved piece of our community's heritage.
What we're planning
We want to restore the bandstand to its former glory and make it fit for another generation of community use and memories. The renovation will include:
- Complete paint removal and render repairs to restore the structure's integrity
- Repainting of all masonry and metalwork
- Internal sealing to weatherproof the interior
- New ceiling spotlights to illuminate evening performances
- Festive fairy lights adorning the domed roof
Why it matters
The bandstand is the heart of Jubilee Park, and Jubilee Park is the heart of Woodhall Spa. The bandstand is where bands play, children gather, and we all come together as a community. By renovating this local landmark, we're preserving a piece of Woodhall Spa's history and creating a beautiful space for future generations.
Please help us save our bandstand. Every contribution brings us closer to restoring this treasured community asset.
