The former US Coast Guard Cutter Ewing WSC-137 served with the Coast Guard from 1927 until 1968, then with University of California Humboldt until it was sold to a private owner in 1993 under the name of Pacific Hunter. She has been sitting in Seattle wasting away for over a decade and is now facing the scrapyard. She was among the Coast Guard's longest-serving and most successful class of cutters, making her one of the three remaining out of the original thirty-five that were built. Your support can help save this historic vessel from the cutter's torch and preserve her for a second life.
Your donation will go directly into the immediate short-term and long-term preservation of this historic vessel. The most immediate assistance your donation will provide is covering monthly dock fees at her current mooring, as well as beginning much-needed deck repairs and debris removal.
The Nautical History Preservation Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing the opportunity for others to learn about why certain vessels hold such historical significance and to inspire younger generations for future preservation of maritime tradition, as well as to open and pursue career paths into the maritime industry.
