The EPCAL Watch coalition is a six year old volunteer effort to protect our community from misuse of the land that was given to the town of Riverhead when Grumman moved away.
The announced intention of Calverton Aviation and Technology (CAT) owned by the Ghermezian family is to build an air cargo hub that will devastate the environment, the value of our homes and local roadways.
We are committed to a campaign of public education and mobilization to influence appointed and elected officials. But if the Riverhead IDA and Town Board finally accept the deal with the Ghermezian family, our last defense is to challenge them in court.
To prepare, we are creating a legal fund. If responsible government wins and a court challenge is not required, all donations to the legal fund will be returned less bank processing costs.
