SARA has reached a point where, without help, our ability to continue caring for the animals who depend on us is becoming increasingly difficult.

Over the years, we have always tried to step in when animals had nowhere else to go. One of the biggest challenges came when we took responsibility for nearly 500 dogs and around 150 cats from the City Animal Center earlier this year.

We could not simply leave them behind.

But taking in so many additional animals meant taking responsibility for everything that came with them: food every day, sterilisation, vaccinations, veterinary treatment, surgeries, medication, recovery care and the additional staff needed to look after them.

Those costs did not disappear once the animals were safe. They became part of our daily responsibility, and little by little, the unpaid bills accumulated.

Today, SARA is carrying approximately 418,600 DH in debt.

That includes around:

200,000 DH Dog food

Feeding such a large number of dogs every single day is by far one of our biggest expenses. Food cannot be postponed, the dogs need to eat whether we have enough donations that month or not.

133,600 DH Sterilisation

Sterilisation remains one of the most important parts of our work. It helps prevent more puppies and dogs from being born into a situation where shelters are already overwhelmed.

60,000 DH veterinary care

Injuries, illness, wound care, surgeries and ongoing treatment are part of shelter life. Many of these bills are for care that has already been provided because waiting was simply not an option.

25,000 DH Medication and pharmacy costs

Many animals need medication during treatment and recovery, and some require ongoing care.

Together, these debts have now reached approximately 418,600 DH (roughly £33 000 or 41 000€ or $44 000 USD).

And while we are trying to manage this, the animals already in our care still need to be fed, treated and looked after every single day.

We know that 418,600 DH is a huge amount.

We do not expect one person to solve this for us.

But if people give what they can  €5, €10, €20 or more - together, we can start taking this weight off SARA and give the animals already depending on us a more secure future.

Please help us keep going.

They are already here.

They already depend on us.

And we cannot do this without you.
