The Objective
Build a community center to serve 100 vulnerable children in Guatemala through educational programs that change lives.
Our Work
Since 2016, when we started our first after-school program in Colonia Santa Fe, Cadaniño has served vulnerable children and families through programs focusing on educational reinforcement, family strengthening, and spiritual formation.
Currently, 200 students participate in our programs receive Bible & character-building classes, nutritional assistance, computer training, tutoring, learn critical thinking develop skills that enable them to succeed in life.
We help those we serve to understand that by developing their God-given gifts and abilities, it is possible to change their lives, their communities and create a better life in the neighborhoods where they live.
Children born into families in at-risk communities in Guatemala face immense challenges in life. Many of them struggle to succeed in school due to limited resources and assistance.
Since 2016 Cadaniño has worked to serve vulnerable children and families in the communities of Colonia Santa Fe, and San Jose Pinula through programs at the community centers they run.
Our work is grounded in scripture that wholeheartedly believes in the power of the Gospel to change lives and impact communities.
Through educational reinforcement, spiritual formation, and family strengthening programs, they work to come alongside families in difficult places to help equip children for success.
By placing a strong emphasis on S.T.E.M., students develop computer science skills that will enable them to succeed in a technology-filled world.

Current Programs
We now have 200 students enrolled in our after-school programs, and it is changing their lives.
In 2019 30% of the students in Santa Fe were first place in their classes at school.
Some of our students had never touched a computer but are now learning web design, programming, and coding in Python and Java.
Shy, quiet kids are gaining confidence and starting to believe in a brighter future through faith in God that comes from knowing the Bible.
The programs we offer have the power to break the cycle of poverty and provide a chance for genuine change in the communities we serve.
The Opportunity
To continue to serve our students well, we desperately need to expand our programs in the Santa Fe neighborhood.
We have been allowed to purchase an empty plot of land, 60x60 feet. Vacant lots this size are almost impossible to find in this area. This land was acquired by someone who read about our program in the newspaper a few years ago, saw the impact we were having, and wanted to help us better serve the children who live in this challenging area.
A lawyer has researched the property, and everything is in order. We have had it assessed, and fair market value would put the price at over $100,000. But it is being offered to us for $25,000, plus taxes and fees to transfer the land, the total comes to $27,550.
Acquiring this property would give us the stability we need to continue serving this community and allow us to build our first adequate facility that would grow to serve an additional 100 students and their families.
We already have a list of 30 students who have been waiting for a space in our programs and another 25 younger siblings of our current students who will be looking to enter our program soon.
