Ruth's genius fund
For the last five years, I've been editor of W42ST, a hyperlocal lifestyle magazine in the fastest growing, most dynamic neighborhood in New York City. My brief: to build a unique brand and develop a voice that speaks directly with a diverse audience. I've had a unique opportunity to celebrate ordinary New Yorkers doing extraordinary things, and have important conversations on subjects like homelessness, sex positivity, race, LGBTQIA+ issues, and social justice (as well as have a lot of fun with fashion and puppies). COVID brought the project to a close – but the New York adventure continues, as I launch an editorial consultancy, with storytelling at its heart. All I need is an O1 "genius" visa to keep the dream alive.
