Hi, my name is Billy and I am participating in 3 iconic running events with the sole purpose to support the over 100 beautiful creatures that live in Stray Paws' shelter in Santorini.
9/10 - Half Marathon in Richmond, UK
16/10 - Half Marathon in Oxford, UK
13/11 - Full Marathon in Athens, Greece
Join me in this great effort and help our furry friends get the infrastructure and supplies they need to get through the winter.
Few words about Stray Paws Santorini:
Stray Paws Santorini is a welfare organisation (418/24-2-2022) ran by only 2 individuals, without any support from the local authorities and with only the occasional help of volunteers visiting the island.
Over 100 dogs, of all age, size and race live in the shelter as we speak, with many more needing help. The monthly costs of running the shelter run over 1500 euros.
This amount goes much higher when dogs who are rescued need medical attention, many times even have to travel to Athens for high level surgeries.
You can follow and support the shelter on their social media,

The island of Santorini, apart from all the beauty, stunning views, unbelievable sunset and mouth-watering food and wine that provides, is a place with facing great difficulties in the day to day life.
Stray dogs is a massive issue in the island, one that the local authorities repeatedly refuse to address.
Thanks to Myrto's and Vasilis efforts, own time and cost, over 100 dogs, find a place to call home, food, clean water, warmth and enjoy the necessary medical attention.
My story with Myrto and Stray Paws:
I got to know Myrto back in September 2019, when I found 8 puppies and their mum in a field next to my house. I was desperate to find a home for all of them before the season end in November.
Our mission was extremely successful and during that time, I got to understand and learn more about the massive issue with stray animals that Santorini has, and the big efforts of Myrto to address it.
I kept in touch since then and was trying to help on any way I could, with highlight the adoption of Vera, my wonderful dog, that I got from the shelter as a 4 months old, back in October 2021.

Winters are always tough in the island, when all the tourist go away and all the support from the travellers eliminates. It is this time that the shelter needs us the most.
I am participating in 3 running events to help raise funds and get through the difficult months of winter.
Join me in this great effort to support an organisation that provides such a meaningful work in the island of Santorini, far from the fame and glamour of the place.
The level of work and effort from Myrto and Vasilis, on their own time and cost is more than admirable, and everyone's support is greatly needed by our over 100 furry friends.
Let's go!
