As President of the USCA in 1984, Rodney gave Ridge Project its current name, Casa Zimbabwe. He was an important part of Co-op history and culture, and beloved for his continuing stewardship of Co-op friendships and connections until his sudden passing. Rodney was like family to many people.
After college, Rodney pursued his passion for helping adults achieve literacy, which he evidenced through a 20-year career as a staff member and manager at LEAP (Literacy for Every Adult Project), and helping teens and young adults receive their GED.
Donations will support Berkeley Student Cooperative Scholarships for our lowest-income students. We are grateful to the over 60 friends and family who created the Rodney Ferguson Memorial Scholarship Fund, an endowed scholarship. Your donation will be a part of a permanent legacy.
Donations can also be mailed to: Berkeley Student Cooperative, c/o Rodney Ferguson Memorial Campaign, 2424 Ridge Rd., Berkeley, CA 94709.
