Roatan Operation Animal Rescue (ROAR) believes that tackling the overpopulation problem at its root is the key to creating a long-lasting, healthy environment for Roatan's animals. As of August 1, 2024, we have completed 500+ sterilizations, but we still need your help to reach our goal of 1000 sterilizations by December 31, 2024. Every donation directly supports our spay & neuter program. By working with pet owners in the colonias, community leaders, and educators, we feel it is the most sustainable way to help the most animals.
Since 2019, ROAR has treated over 4,000 animals on Roatan. We are a 100% volunteer-powered organization. With our volunteers' commitment & dedication, we have transported & treated pets with heartworm, Ehrlichia, mange, TVT, neuro issues, and broken bones. We have covered X-rays, antibiotics, and diagnostic tests…the list is endless! We work to educate local residents on the importance of proper care, treatment and nutrition for their pets, and especially spay & neuter. Combatting animal overpopulation and keeping pets at home has always been the heart of our mission and, we believe, is the best course of action.
Our accomplishments since 2019 include:

• 1000+ Emergency Medical Treatments
• 40,000 Lbs. of Pet Food Distributed
• Caring for & adopting out 53 horses
• 60 Pet Adoptions
