The reality is simple: it never ends.
There will always be another bird whose caregiver passes away unexpectedly, another family facing a crisis, another neglect case, another medical emergency, another hoarding situation, and another phone call asking, “Can you help?”
Rhode Island Parrot Rescue wants the answer to continue to be YES!
That is why, for RIPR’s 10th Annual Giving Day on September 16, 2026, we are asking our community to help us raise $11,000 for our Emergency Vet Fund. This fund helps give RIPR the financial foundation to respond when the next emergency happens.
Emergencies do not wait until fundraising is convenient. They do not wait until there is enough money in the bank. When the call comes, we need carriers ready, fuel in the vehicles, quarantine space available, food in the building, veterinary care accessible, medications available, staff and volunteers mobilized, and the financial resources to make all of it possible.
Your #RIPR26GivingDay donation will help support emergency intake and transportation, veterinary examinations and diagnostics, medications and emergency treatment, quarantine and safe housing, specialized nutrition, sanitation and disease-control supplies, and the long-term rehabilitation that often continues for months after a rescue.
Our goal is $11,000, and we are asking everyone who has followed one of our rescues, celebrated one of our placements, watched one of our birds recover, volunteered with us, shared our posts, donated in the past, or simply believed that these animals deserve better to stand with us again.

Ten years ago, 117 parrots changed Rhode Island Parrot Rescue forever. Since then, hundreds more have reminded us why we must keep going. We do not know where the next call will come from. We do not know how many birds will be waiting. We do not know what condition they will be in.
