At EconReads, we work to make education and financial literacy accessible to visually impaired students. Over the past year, we partnered with three schools for the blind, in Delhi, Gurugram, and Patiala, to bring our audio learning resources to their classrooms.
But working alongside these schools, we saw a harder problem up close: they simply don't have the basic tools their students need to learn. Classrooms are missing Braille books. Computers are outdated or absent. There are no screen readers, and little audio equipment. Teachers and students are doing remarkable work with almost nothing.
We're raising $7,000 to change that. Every rupee goes directly toward equipping these three schools with:
- Braille books so students can read independently
- Screen readers opening up computers and the internet
- Audio equipment for lessons, recordings, and learning materials
- Computers giving students the digital access their peers take for granted
Together, these three schools serve 700 students. With the right resources, every one of them gains a real shot at an independent, literate, connected education.
