Help us Reimagine in 2023
The Table Church is a justice-oriented, LGBTQ+ affirming, anti-racist community of faith. Our dream is to be able to hold a morning service again. We believe that a morning service will help us become more sustainable as a church and will help us to grow deeper roots in our city. This year, we’re celebrating 10 years as a church. As with most churches, that journey has held ups and downs, terrific wins and difficult losses. But we love Washington DC and are committed to her for the long haul.
We don’t have all the answers. We tend to lead out of curiosity and experimentation rather than certainty. But we do know that the words of poet Audre Lorde are true: “Without community, there is no liberation.” We believe that extending the influence of this joyful, liberative community matters. We are church reimagined and we want to continue to reimagine in ways that bring freedom for the next 100 years. Including a Sunday morning service in our schedule of gatherings is just the beginning. Please help us continue to reimagine church in the nation’s capital.
