The first-grade team at JCS is excited to apply for a mini-grant from NEED to bring RAZ-Kids back to our classrooms! This engaging, online reading platform helps our youngest learners build confidence and strengthen the reading skills they’re developing every day.
With RAZ-Kids, students can independently explore a wide range of leveled books that match their reading ability and interests. Each story includes interactive features, like quizzes and annotation tools, that make reading fun while reinforcing key comprehension and critical-thinking skills. Students can even record themselves reading aloud—helping them hear their own progress and take pride in how far they’ve come!
We plan to use RAZ-Kids during center time, allowing students to practice independently while teachers work with small groups. This structure ensures that every child receives the personalized instruction and support they need to become a confident reader.
