The Australian Islamic Centre was established in 2017 in Newport Victoria (about 8 km from Melbourne CBD) to support the growing demand on community, religious and educational services in the area; and replacing the old facility established in 1989. The Centre is a large complex made up of:
• Grand Mosque with a capacity for 800 worshippers.
• Library
• Female and Male fitness centre (Gym)
• Interfaith Dialogue Centre
• A Community Kitchen and Café/Canteen
• Planned Stage3: A Hall to support the activities of the Ethnic and AIC
• An educational facility supporting an Ethnic language school
