We are excited to share the outstanding work of Radical Reversal! As an organization committed to social transformation within the carceral state, we are dedicated to bringing the transformative power of the creative arts to the most silenced voices within the carceral state.
Why Radical Reversal?
Radical Reversal is on a mission to dismantle barriers within the criminal legal system. We firmly believe that every individual, regardless of their past, deserves an opportunity for growth, healing, and self-expression. By installing recording studios within prisons, we empower individuals to harness their creativity and share their stories through music, creative writing and the arts in general.
The Power of Poetry and Music
Poetry and Music have always been universal languages that break through barriers, inspires change, and connects humanity on a deeper and personal level. It has the unparalleled ability to heal, ignite introspection, and breed empathy. Through the gift of our recording studios/creative spaces, we enable our artist/students to find solace and develop essential creative and life skills.
Our Vision
With your generous support, we intend to raise $10,000 to continue expanding our revolutionary initiative. Proceeds will be used to support our Radical Reversal Fellows at Suffolk County House of Correction after their release at Merrimack College in Andover, MA to obtain an Associate Degree. They will be fully funded. At Radical Reversal we recognize the barriers our students will face once released. It is our commitment to provide financial support as they continue to be Radical Reversal Fellows on Merrimack's campus. With your support each student will receive a $5,000 fellowship to help with expenses while they pursue a degree.
Also, your generous gift will help supporting our Radical Teaching Artist at Oak Creel OYA, which is a female/trans youth facility in Albany, Oregon as well as our first Poet-in-Residence that identifies as LGPTQ+ at Oak Creek.
