Announcing "Creative Convergence: Radical Reversal in Birmingham"
We are thrilled to announce that Radical Reversal has been awarded a generous $600,000 grant from The Mellon Foundation to launch our groundbreaking project, "Creative Convergence: Radical Reversal in Birmingham." This initiative aims to empower incarcerated youth by providing them with the tools, skills, and platforms to express themselves creatively and connect with their communities.
Why We Need Your Support
While the Mellon Foundation grant covers a significant portion of the project, we still need to raise an additional $50,000 to fully realize our vision. Your support this GivingTuesday will help us:
Upgrade Facilities: Enhance the Interactive Creative Studio at the G. Ross Bell Youth Detention Center with state-of-the-art equipment.
Establish a Community Studio: Create a companion studio in Birmingham's Ensley neighborhood to bridge connections between incarcerated youth and the community.
Offer Educational Programs: Provide workshops in music production, graphic design, and Pro Tools certification.
Your Impact
Empower Youth: Equip young people with the skills to tell their stories and envision brighter futures.
Build Community: Foster understanding and collaboration between incarcerated youth and community members.
Amplify Voices: Support the creation of art, music, and podcasts that share unique perspectives and inspire change.
- Provide state-of-the-art facilities and equipment.
- Offer educational programs that open doors to new possibilities.
- Build bridges between youth and the communities they will one day rejoin.
