I am an athlete, past elementary school teacher, and passionate person who cares about health and wellness. I know how physical activity and healthy eating helps boost my mood and helps me conquer any challenge my day brings.
I love working with CYCLE Kids! For the past 19 years, they have been committed to working with elementary schools in underserved, racially diverse communities to ensure the basic rights of children to a physically and emotionally healthy start in life, all through the fun of biking and learning about healthy nutrition. The program helps children gain confidence and improve self esteem while learning active and healthy life skills, and achieving better academic outcomes. One of my favorite moments is when we open a new program and I get to go to the schools, meet the PE teacher and children, and help them build the bikes they will be using in their CYCLE Kids program. It always fill me with joy.
A Bike Can Take You Anywhere!
I know riding a bike can take you anywhere. CYCLE Kids has 30 public schools in Brooklyn, New York, that are waiting for a CYCLE Kids program and I want to make sure their children can have that same amazing feeling I have when I ride my bike. I want them to experience the journey biking can take you on. Cycling has changed my life by opening up the world to me through my Ultra Cycling career. It has given me confidence and self esteem to pursue opportunities I never would have dreamed possible. With each Ultra Cycling experience, my faith in humanity has been renewed by the many kind people I have met racing and traveling all over the world. Without the support of my friends, family, and sponsors, none of this would be possible.
Working at CYCLE Kids, I have been able to share my passion with thousands of children. But there are so many more we can give the gift of cycling to who do not have the access without our help. Let's give them an opportunity to lean "A Bike Can Take Them Anywhere!"
