In 2024 we hit our target for the first phase of our R2,000,000 fundraiser, R750,000! (£32,000 / $40,000!!

We are so grateful for everyone who has partnered with us in 2024! We are amazed at your generosity! This will enable us to achieve 35-40% of the renovation.

Every gift is sowing into a blessing and a legacy here in Cape Town, as we are seeing many lives recover and rebuild in this space!

Now in 2025, we are launching into PHASE  TWO of this fundraiser, the big push to raise R900,000 (£38,000 / $50,000) to get us 80% through the renovation.

Our Vision: We are going to use this building to accommodate individuals coming out of rehabilitation, where they can rebuild and then reintegrate back into society. The reality is for individuals trying to break an addiction to substance abuse is that only 3% of individuals who go through rehabilitation stay clean for 1 year. This is largely because after rehab, individuals almost always go back to the same place (often the streets) and problems. This building will allow us to fill a missing gap by supporting individuals who we are mentoring and have gone through rehabilitation with safe accommodation for a season.

Frank and Wilma Gie, our rehabilitation coordinators, will be live-in mentors for these individuals, creating a space of community, healing and rebuilding.

The ground floor of this building will be used as a meeting space for Freedom Groups, in partnership with Freedom Church Cape Town. Freedom Groups is a space where destitute individuals can come off the streets and find hope and a hot drink.

The rest of the building will be converted into studios, one for the mentors and the others for the individuals who are going on a journey with us. Hosting up to 10 individuals any one time for approximately + /- 6 months.

Our Mission is to help people overcome their unique obstacles to a healthy and financially sustainable life. We do this through offering one to one mentorship and providing a level of financial support.

We use our Freedom Group environments to connect with and seek out individuals who demonstrate a genuine desire to change, a strong commitment to their recovery, and a willingness to take personal responsibility for their actions.

Once an individual displays dedication and a willingness to transform their life, a mentor is assigned to them. This mentor works closely with them on a one-on-one basis, helping to outline their specific recovery path.

We then encourage them to share their journey with us, which we in turn share with our community via our mailing list. Through fundraising efforts, we aim to finance their specific recovery journey, covering costs such as detoxification, rehabilitation, and post-care support, including housing costs and employment assistance.

We welcome them into a supportive community composed of mentors, social workers, medical professionals and friends. Together, we provide a network of encouragement and guidance as they navigate the path towards a brighter future.

Our Plan is to raise R2,000,000 (approx £85,000 / €100,000 / $110,000) over the next 12 months to completely renovate this building, breaking this down into 3 phases over the year. Phase one R750,000, Phase two R900,000 and the final phase of R350,000.
