PUTNEY ROTARY'S ANNUAL CHRISTMAS COLLECTION 2020

THANK YOU FOR YOUR KIND DONATIONS! 


We've set up this donation page to enable those who were not able to see Santa this year in our Annual Collection, 

a chance to still donate to the collection.

MORE THAN £5,000 RAISED SO FAR FROM OUR WONDERFUL PUTNEY COMMUNITY 

AS WE WERE ABLE TO COLLECT ON THE 14TH, 16TH AND 19TH DECEMBER,

BUT DUE TO TIER 4 RESTRICTIONS, HAD TO CANCEL THE 22ND DECEMBER.


For the last 40 years, Putney Rotary has delighted the kids with Santa in his sleigh, bringing songs and bells to the streets of Putney with Christmas carols and Father Christmas for a very special early visit to our community.


Covid 19 has changed a lot for everyone in 2020, and Putney Rotary members have been very active in our community donating time, money, and goods to both charities and individuals...but we could not have done the work without your support. Thank you!


We've responded to calls for help and donated to LOCAL organisations in the last year 2020:

AGE UK Wandsworth, Regenerate, Wandsworth Prison, Trinity Hospice, The Salvation Army, SPEAR London, Glass Door Homeless Charity and  Rotary's End Polio Now campaign.  


DECEMBER - GIFT BOXES FOR 300 KIDS! 

For this holiday season, we partnered with Wandsworth Council's Roehampton BASE Youth Club and Wandsworth Boxing Club.


We ran a Lockdown 2.0 Quiz Night to raise funds, and you our neighbours, friends and community members donated lots of wonderful toys. Combined with the generous cash and product donations from Waitrose & Partners (Give a Little Love campaign) in particular, ASDA Roehampton (100 boxes of mince pies) Tescos (New Malden), Sainsbury's (Putney) and Kids Stuff (100 stocking fillers), our members put together Gift Boxes for low and no income families in our community so 300 kids could have something to open over the festive holiday season. What a wonderful achievement! Thank you so much!


INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS - in conjunction with the ROTARY INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION

+ We've just we've donated to Creating Better Futures for Covid-19 safe hand-washing facilities for the children in Zimbabwe. 

+ Our club is co-ordinating a fundraising campaign across the UK to raise USD $140k for Beirut Karantina state hospital (paediatric & neonatal operating theatre and paediatric wing) badly damaged in the port explosion on the 4th August

+ We're working on a water and sanitation project (WASH) for Kagando hospital in Uganda.
