Empowering Maasai Children Through Sustainable Education: Support Bio-Gas Digester Installation at Promise Village Academy in the heart of Tanzania's Simanjiro region—just outside the remote Maasai village of Lenjani—stands Promise Village Academy, a beacon of hope for 281 Maasai children from Pre-K through 7th grade.
Privately funded and dedicated to breaking the cycle of generational poverty through quality education, the academy has grown significantly since opening its doors in 2019. Today, it boasts 10 classrooms, a 200-bed student dormitory, teacher housing, and a secure campus, with students consistently achieving exceptional results, often ranking in the 96th percentile on national exams. Yet, a critical daily challenge remains: the school kitchen still relies on traditional wood-fired cooking to prepare meals for all students.
Every day, children must spend valuable time and energy collecting firewood, diverting them from learning and play while placing strain on the local environment and the school's operations. Nyumbu Foundation, in association with Nyumbu Luxury Collection, is stepping forward to change this. We plan to fund and install two modern bio-gas digesters specifically for the school kitchen.
