Protecting Maasai Children’s Health and Education: Fund Mosquito Nets for Promise Village Academy in the heart of rural Tanzania’s Simanjiro region—just outside the traditional Maasai village of Lenjani—Promise Village Academy stands as a beacon of hope and opportunity.
This privately funded school educates 283 Maasai children from Pre-K through 7th grade in a secure, nurturing environment that includes 10 modern classrooms and a 200-bed student dormitory. Since opening in 2019, the academy has delivered exceptional academic outcomes, with students ranking in the 96th percentile on national exams, while providing clean water, nutritious meals, and a stable home away from generational poverty.
However, a critical health challenge threatens the well-being of the boarding students: the school currently faces a funding shortfall for sufficient long-lasting insecticide-treated mosquito nets. In this malaria-endemic area of Simanjiro, inadequate protection leaves children vulnerable to mosquito-borne illness at night—potentially causing missed school days, reduced learning, and serious health risks.
Nyumbu Foundation, in association with Nyumbu Luxury Collection, is committed to closing this gap. We aim to fund the purchase and distribution of personal mosquito nets for every boarding child. Completing this campaign will ensure:
In partnership with Nyumbu Luxury Collection—a proudly Tanzanian, indigenously owned luxury safari company dedicated to responsible tourism and community upliftment—this project creates meaningful, sustainable impact in the Simanjiro heartland.
Help us protect every boarding child at Promise Village Academy. Every donation brings us closer to full coverage—join Nyumbu Foundation today and make a life-changing difference for Maasai children in Tanzania.
