Be the Lifeline for LGBTQ+ Individuals and Allies Across Wales

We Urgently Need Your Help: We need to raise £5,000 per month to ensure no one in desperate need is turned away due to a lack of resources and keep our free-of-charge lifesaving counselling service running. Your donation will help us hit this critical milestone and continue saving lives.

At Progress Cymru Counselling, provide more than just counselling—we offer a lifeline. For over two decades, our services have been a vital source of support for LGBTQ+ people and allies, helping those in crisis navigate the unique mental health challenges they face. The current presenting themes that our clients are facing is varied, however the clients that will face the greatest risk if we cannot continue to support our community are those experiencing: Abuse and Domestic Violence, Sexual Violence, Complex Trauma and C-PTSD, Child Abuse, and Gender Dysphoria.

Every year, our work helps save lives—around 20 people each year are with us today because they found the support they needed in time. But as demand for our lifesaving services grows, we urgently need your help.

By joining the Progress Cymru Pledge with a monthly donation, you can help us continue providing vital support and expand our services to reach even more individuals in desperate need. Your ongoing commitment will allow us to:

Continue employment: We are committed to offering our life-saving counselling service to LGBTQ+ individuals and allies across Wales. However, our small team is operating at skeleton capacity to meet the increasing demand for services. Without continued funding, we risk having to turn away individuals in need.
Expand our counselling team: Your support will allow us to recruit and train more counsellors over the next year. By expanding our counselling team, we can reduce wait times, ensuring that individuals in crisis receive the timely support they need.
Specialised training: Your donations will also enable us to provide our BACP registered counsellors with ongoing specialised training, equipping them with the expertise to provide specialised, effective and compassionate support.
Create an online platform: We aim to create an online platform that will serve as a 24/7 beacon of hope and support for individuals, especially those in rural areas who may not have access to in-person services. By reaching people online, we can connect with those who need us most, providing them with immediate access to resources and support.
