Join us in keeping the legacy of beloved children’s author Laura Ingalls Wilder alive. The Laura Ingalls Wilder Memorial Society, a nonprofit historical museum in De Smet, South Dakota, is dedicated to preserving and sharing Laura’s story for future generations.
We are the proud guardians of irreplaceable Ingalls-Wilder artifacts, including:
- The Surveyor’s House (featured in By the Shores of Silver Lake)
- The First School of De Smet (from The Long Winter)
- The Ingalls Home (the last home “Pa” built)
These treasures, along with countless other artifacts, help us preserve both Laura’s legacy and a significant chapter of American history.
