Pound Buddies Capital Campaign

Pound Buddies is excited to announce their plans to purchase and renovate an existing building located at 3279 East Laketon Avenue, which will become the new home of our community’s largest and only open-admission animal center. 

The facility will be solely owned by Volunteers of Muskegon County Animal Control d.b.a. Pound Buddies and will have the ability to house over 100 shelter dogs in new 5’ x 8’ kennels, arranged to substantially reduce shelter stress. When completed, the 25,000 square foot building will include a welcoming lobby with office spaces, designated adoption meeting areas, and a large indoor exercise area. 

In addition, there will be separate animal intake and isolation areas. Five acres adjacent to the building will allow for four large fenced play areas and walking paths with picnic tables and resting benches.
