This was our first Polar Express shop and I will never forget this amazing experience! One class walked in to shop and the kids began shouting in excitement and one girl covered her mouth in surprised delight as they rushed in to explore all the toys and gifts set out.
One little boy timidly brought me two dollars worth of toys and handed me his golden ticket. We provided golden tickets (worth $10) to anyone who didn't have money to shop. When he brought me his items I said "This is great! You have $8 left, go get a bunch more!" His face lit up immediately and he dashed off to get more gifts. The hardest part of running the Polar Express was trying not to cry in front of these amazing children. Bets are off now and I'm crying remembering all the special moments!
When I was shopping to restock one of the days I happened upon baby strollers and filled up the cart. Next day I saw so many little girls rolling up with their strollers and baby dolls and big brothers grabbing strollers as gifts for sisters back at home I was delighted! You can believe I'll be getting a lot more of those next year!
Thank you all for helping make this a reality for our kids!
Thank you so very much to everyone who has donated so far! We are very excited! We only have a few days left to raise funds and shop for gifts, please share this fundraiser wherever you can. I know that together we can do anything!
