Only today we told you about the very desperate story of 23 more dogs found abandoned in Cyprus, 4 of which are currently under our care, shortly followed by a new arrival puppy and 2 further dogs found abandoned on the streets! Our fight for them never ends but sadly it is nothing compared to the fight for survival that these dogs still face in such a modern country that should know better!
We are a voice for the voiceless and we join so many other people desperately trying to do something about this awful situation by rescuing and rehoming the stray and abandoned dogs of Cyprus.
Yet we can only do so much, as like all other rescues, we are constantly struggling financially to pay our bills. When we take a dog under our care, the first task is arranging a safe place for him or her to stay which normally is a private boarding kennel as all the other rescue centres and full! We can’t ask these business owners to take our dogs for free, even though they do it for a reduced rate, they too have their own costs to cover! And once we have them safe, fed and watered we then need to assess their health and get them the vet care they need and just like the UK, it’s very expensive.
This year, Saving Souls have been looking at ways of increasing funds through various fundraising events and we add to our campaign a selection of dog bed/covers.
These wonderful covers for dog beds are professionally made from upcycled curtain material and sealed with velcro, so no zips or buttons to cause problems. Just pop a single duvet folded into four inside for a comfy doggy bed. Cover washable at 30 degrees over and over again so will last years.
By purchasing one of our dog beds/covers today, you can help us keep so many more dogs safe and off the streets of Cyprus – such an amazing thing to be able to do! Your funds will go towards the next few abandoned dogs we find, get them a safe place to stay and the vet care they may need whilst we search desperately to find them a new family.
