Please Don’t Let My Dream of Becoming a Doctor Die

My name is Mohammed, and I am 19 years old. I am a medical student from the Gaza Strip, and becoming a doctor has always been my greatest dream.

Today, that dream feels more fragile than ever.

My family and I are currently living in Al-Mawasi, Khan Younis, where life has become incredibly difficult. We face constant uncertainty and hardship, but I am still trying to hold on to hope and continue my education.

My father has a hearing disability, which makes communication and finding employment extremely difficult for him. Because of his disability and our circumstances, he is currently unable to work and provide our family with a stable income. My mother does everything she can to care for us and keep our family together despite the challenges we face.

My sister, Eima Issa Abd Tabasi, is 23 years old and has an intellectual disability and developmental delay. She needs special care, patience, attention, and daily support from our family. As her brother, I try my best to be there for her while also helping my parents and carrying whatever responsibilities I can.

I am only 19, but I have learned that life can place enormous responsibilities on young shoulders.

Still, I refuse to give up on my dream.

Medicine is not simply a university degree to me. It represents hope, a future, and the possibility of one day becoming someone who can help people who are suffering. I want to become a doctor so I can serve others and, hopefully, build a more secure future for my family.

But without support, continuing my medical education is becoming increasingly difficult. I am afraid that circumstances beyond my control could force me to abandon the future I have worked so hard to build.

I am asking for your help to keep my dream alive.

Every contribution, no matter how small, can help me continue my studies and move one step closer to becoming a doctor. If you cannot donate, sharing my story can also make a meaningful difference by helping it reach someone who can.

Please don’t let my circumstances take away my future. Help me stay in medical school and keep fighting for my dream of becoming a doctor.
