Help Phil, Shannon, David and Gail buy,Ā drive, and deliver an evacuation vehicle to Ukraine šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡¦

The urgent need for international support in Ukraine is ongoing. The war is in its fourth year. The future of Ukraine’s survival hangs in the balance. The Ukrainians need more vehicles, aid, and support from volunteers than ever before.

The human and financial cost of this conflict is staggering, with tens of thousands of civilians killed, countless more injured, and hundreds of billions of pounds in infrastructure damage. 4,000,000 Ukrainians have lost their homes, 10,000 missiles have been launched at the country, and over 1,000 hospitals have been destroyed.

As a small part of the help still needed, in July 2025, Phil Billingham, Shannon Currie and David & Gail Crozier will drive 1,318 miles over 3 days across Europe to deliver an evacuation vehicle destined for work on the Ukrainian frontlines.

We have volunteered to support the Driving Ukraine team and make the delivery happen, and we now need your support to purchase and deliver this vehicle.

Ā£6,000 will buy, convert and transport this vehicle to where it can be of real value

Funds raised beyond this will buy a drone jamming device to prevent the vehicle being destroyed by FPV drones.

It is worth repeating that we pay for our own travel and accommodation costs throughout. Ā Every penny you generously contribute will go towards purchasing a vehicle or drone-jamming devices.

We are asking you to help please.

Vehicles - mostly 4x4 pickup trucks and ambulances - are purchased in the UK and modified by dedicated volunteers, before being placed with essential teams in Ukraine. These include ambulance crews, 4x4 evacuation teams, first-aid responders, international volunteer medics, humanitarian bomb disposal units, and hospitals.

Vehicles are destroyed by a number of things, exacerbated by the cold Ukrainian winter, but drones are the main threat.

Funds raised beyond Ā£6k will buy drone-jamming devices developed by volunteers in Lviv. These devices block the frequencies drones rely on to operate, preventing them from targeting our vehicles. The jamming devices are designed to cause drones to lose connection and fall to the ground, return to their base, or activate emergency protocols—all of which protect the vehicle and everyone inside. This technology safeguards drivers, passengers, and any wounded soldiers being transported.

By contributing to this cause, you will help save lives and ensure critical vehicles remain operational in challenging conditions. Every donation makes a difference!

With your help, we have been here before:

  • March 2022 – Phil & Shannon take a van-load of supplies to Przemyśl, Poland

  • April 2022 – David & Stephen drive from Belfast to Kraków with more supplies

  • May 2022 – Phil & Shannon visit Chișinău, Moldova, making contact with aid charities & NGOs there

  • September 2022 – Phil & Shannon, David & Gail return to Chișinău, buy a bus for transporting aid & refugees

  • February 2023 – Rock for Ukraine takes total aid raised by UK financial services over Ā£100k

  • March 2023 – David & Gail spend a fortnight in Chișinău, helping to man a refugee centre

  • July 2023 – supply water filters and purification tablets in the wake of the Kakhova dam breach

  • October 2023 – return to Chișinău, more aid deliveries, travel to Odesa in Ukraine to make contact with agencies there

  • April 2024 – David returns to the refugee centre in Chișinău

  • October 2024 – Phil, Shannon and Fiona Tait drive a vehicle with Aid to Ukrainian border

None of this would nor could have happened, certainly not to the extent that it did, without help from a lot of people, and especially financial contributions from our colleagues in financial services in the UK and around the world, and our friends and families.

But help is still needed, hence this trip and this appeal.

We know that the 4x4 vehicles and Jammers save lives – we need your help to make it happen.
