Miguel* is a young child in Peru. He was born with a cleft lip and palate. His initial lip surgery was delayed due to the Pandemic. When the FACES team reached him in January of 2023, the surgeons prioritized his palate repair. The surgery was successful, and Miguel is hoping to be considered in the next FACES campaign this January, 2024, for his long-awaited lip repair. His surgeon is Dr. Jessyka Lighthall of Penn State Otolaryngology, long-time FACES Medical Volunteer.
