Paul Polo Carter for State Representative for District 39.
For the past 30 years, I’ve worked to help Louisianians who suffer from physical and mental health disorders. Over the course of my career, I’ve worked as a Direct Service Worker, Youth Counselor for a Boy’s Group Home, child protection investigator for the Chitimacha Tribe of Louisiana, a Program Director for In-Home Community Based Services, and I am a currently a part owner of Medical Advantage Care. I’ve spent my career serving the citizens of District 39 and the parishes of Acadia, Evangeline, Iberia, Lafayette, St. Landry, St. Martin, St. Mary and Vermillion and, thanks to my experiences in social services, I’ve seen what our district needs. Whether its increased education funding, more focus on the health and wellbeing of our citizens, infrastructure repair, or business and industry growth. Besides my professional career, I am heavily involved in the faith communities within the district. Serving as Louisiana State 1st Vice President for the Knights of Peter Claver, Faithful Navigator for St. Paul Meritorious Fourth Degree Grand Assembly # 3, a member of the Diocese of Lafayette Pro-Life Committee. I put a special focus on the health and education in our faith community as well. I am a youth mentor, a parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church where I serve as a Eucharistic minister, confirmation teacher, 2013 Leadership Louisiana Council for A Better Louisiana, member of the Down’s Syndrome Association, American Association on Mental Retardation LA- Chapter, and the Supportive Living Network. Past board member for Habitat for Humanities, Chitimacha Tribe of Louisiana Child Protection Team, 2016 Lafayette Parish Distinguished Merit Awards Recipient, Holy Family Catholic School Board, and Chair for the efforts to rebuild Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church after April 16, 2010 fire raising over $2 million for the rebuilding of the church. I’m a family man-nothing is more important to me than God, my wife Lydale, and our two daughters. I’m proud to call this district home, and I’m passionate about creating a community that’s better for our children than the one we have today. I hope to earn your support and VOTE October 12, 2019 Paul "Polo" Carter as your next State Representative for District 39.
